At least let me pour you something to drink while you think of your wish then. Might help fortify your stomach for eating my attempt at a cake.

[ oh boy. well, despite that, Sam is pretty sure Jewel wouldn't go through this effort considering how many times he's said he is an absolute mess in the kitchen and with no interest to improve that just to intentionally mess it up.

sits down, just looking at the table setup fishing out his phone so he can take pictures. This is like... stuff he needs evidence of later to show himself it's not some weird ass dream his mind has made up.

—because, yes, he totally believes his mind would do something really weird like have him dream about a birthday party Jewel prepares for him and even tries to make him a cake for it rather than something more normal like a wet dream of them having sex.

yup, the wet dream makes way more sense and would be less embarrassing, to be honest. ]

[Humming to himself and opening a bottle of champagne he took from the lounge before pouring two glasses, offering one over to Sam]

You being able to bake a cake or not doesn't matter to me. The fact you tried for me when you're already convinced you can't means so much more.

Mhmm, so use the time to come up with a good wish.

[Clears his throat jokingly before starting to sing, soft and slow. There’s no music or dancing or hamming it up. Just scoots his chair closer to Sam’s and rests his head against his shoulder while he sings which eventually tapers off into soft humming]

[ wow this is so endearing. Sam feels like this has to be a dream. It's just too content and simple and uncomplicated and nice to be real, right?

tilts his head to gently rest against Jewel's own against his shoulder.

well, for now, a dream or not, he should indulge and enjoy it first, be embarrassed his brain is this pathetic and embarrassing later on if ends up true it's all a dream. ]

[ lifts his head so he can lean in a bit and blow out the candles. ]

[Gets up so he can cut the cake.....and attempt to plate it to look a little more appealing]

[ hums before chuckling. ]

I wished that one day you and I could feel the same way about each other.

You do know tradition says it doesn't come true if you say it outloud, right? You were supposed to be like 'teehee you know I can't say, Jewel'.
