[ Childe hums softly as Jewel's hands slide along his chest. ]

[Leans in to get a closer look at his face]

[ drags his hand so that his fingertips dig in just a little bit as they run up Jewel's spine. ]

[Arches his back, climbing across the short distance between the table and couch to settle on his lap instead]

[ His arms go to wrap around Jewel's waist now that he's on his lap, pulling him closer so that their chests touch. Tilting his head a little he'll lean in to kiss Jewel on the mouth as his hold tightens just a little bit more. ]

[Balls his hands in the front of Childe's shirt, kissing back after a moment, nipping at his bottom lip]

[ Childe presses into the kiss a bit more, biting at Jewel's lips in response with teeth but not so hard that it hurts. ]

[Sits up on his knees for a better angle, tugging him closer with that hold on his shirt, lips parting at the introduction of teeth in the kiss]

[ His arms will adjust to make sure Jewel is well supported from behind, fingers squeezing an ass cheek again. His tongue teases between those newly parted lips before he goes back to biting more into the kiss once more, even pulling and sucking briefly on the other's lower lip. All the while he's leaning in while pulling Jewel to get their bodies flush, the friction and heat from their bodies desired in addition to the heat of them mouths. ]

[Slides his fingers into the other man's hair, nibbling at his bottom lip teasingly]

It's a little different considering the guy I'm part of is as close to being in love with you as one can be without actually being so.

...Sam doesn't like uncomfortable situations that he has no control over, in case you didn't notice. He's used to being able to shape everything in some way or form no matter how bad they are. Every incident he has been unable to do that with tends to be pretty hard-hitting and altering for him. He was unstable before that reveal session the Showmaster—or whatever her name is had—that just swapped us out without me having to do even do anything.

...I guess stubborn brat is a view that can still describe all this, though. On the other hand you aren't his husband or wife, so he may just not think it's a big deal.

Okay, I don't think it's that or you wouldn't have the equivalent of stupid plot armor around me. It's more like... you have plenty of others, you don't need him or have an expectation for him to always be there because his support isn't a priority to you. Subconsciously for him, if you don't need him it's probably easier for his own emotional wellbeing to drift.

It's because you know already no one's going to ever love you more than he will, yeah? Even if you fall in love with someone else and go off to be happily ever after with them, you already know they won't be able to compare. So it's only natural you want him back and around because that feels safe as well as you're worried about him as he's very important to you as one of your strongest connections on this boat... and that's all on top of you actually having a pretty dumb crush on his dumb cagey ass, too. To you, ignoring that in order to not potentially disappoint him and have him lose interest if you're not as great as he thinks is the safest best option to keep him around long term... and yet here you're being told he'll only be a guarantee if you go with the option you think is most risky in losing him. Why can't you just have your friend here like you want him to be, and why can't he understand how much you care for him regardless of what kind of love that is? This is for both for your own goods, you don't wanna make a mess being impulsive with someone like him. How can he not understand that, why is he such a brat?

...You also might feel such a commitment requirement is unfair since it's a huge leap for you both. You do realize that when you turned him down and friend-zoned him, his idea of being in a serious relationship and wanting to marry you is like 15 years away if you accepted then, though, right? I mean I'm sure you did, but!
