Have you had any luck here? It's fairly dark and quiet up on deck after hours. Though I don't know if the ship itself would cause too much light pollution for you to see the stars.
Haven't actually... usually do it with my pets and Virga back home, but feels like too much to bother here by myself. I have Virga, but she's not functioning correctly and so far Forge hasn't been able to help me figure out why. She can still take pictures and things but her telephoto lens are not swapping. I'm not even sure if there's a good comfy spot on deck to camp out. There should be definitely dark enough parts of the ship, in theory, though ...
Also, not gonna lie, this ship kinda creeps me out at night.
[ Just at night? Jun is slowly sliding into being creeped out 24/7. ]
There are suitable places up on deck though they require you to bring your own blankets and such. I could show you a few sometime and you can see if any of them seem suitable for what you would like to do.
[ Nobody knows the trouble I've seen Nobody knows my sorrow
Sam is both used to being alone and I'm creepy as hell places alone. this makes him a relatively low maintenance friend, luckily, for people like Jun. ]
Sure, thanks. Appreciate it.
[ he'll finish his fish finally before just starting quietly at the dish as he waits for Jun to finish, too. He probably should do something nice in return for Jun for doing this since he's already inconvenienced him more than once on this ship, he's just not sure what. He'll offer to take June plate once the other is finished and get up to go bring them to the sink unless Jun takes the initiative. Despite it not bring his cabin, he feels the last he can do is offer to do the dishes. ]
I am known to be dense sometimes. Affectionately, a blockhead I am called.
And you are normally a very animated individual. So if you are quiet, I hope that it is because you are comfortable and not because I have unintentionally shut down what you wish to say.
[ he laughs gently. ] You didn't do anything. I'm comfortable, thanks. Besides, I said enough, I get too excited sometimes when I actually talk to people that listen. I shouldn't be talking to you about such weird things like my sex life to the point you feel a need to offer your help finding me someone. That's just... hmm ... not sure the word I'd use beyond unnecessary. Maybe rude, too.
I shouldn't be talking about my insecurities on this boat, either. Everyone is going through such a time on this boat, and I've been really lucky.
Thanks for always being willing to go out of your way for me, though.
There is no need to play the misery Olympics here. That is a game we all would lose. Everyone is affected in their own way and none of those insecurities are baseless.
I'm honored that you would share your problems with me. But if you are looking to just speak of them rather than hear my advice, I can refrain from offering solutions. It is an unfortunate habit of mine to fixate on such things.
But most importantly, I simply enjoy your company. So I will continue to go out of my way, as you put it, because the familiarity makes it feel a little less that I'm out in the middle of the ocean with no idea of when I'll be able to go home.
And your solutions aren't a problem. I appreciate you trying to help. I just realize when you offer them sometimes how I'm putting you in a weird position.
You do not have to explain yourself to me. I still stand by what I said and that is not going to change. It has not changed in the time we have known each other.
But please, I've worked customer service long enough to recognize such a response when I hear one. You have a lot on your plate. You do not have to juggle my feelings as well.
[ he refrains from apologizing, even! This is progress most likely. he'll clean the dishes, being very careful about disposing any leftover fish so there's no smell that will crop up later in the holy order kitchen. when he's done he'll return to sit. ]
Re: Day 215 - Late morning/noonish
But since you asked, I'm doing as well as can be expected. This afternoon I plan to start working on some of the criteria for restoring the library.
Re: Day 215 - Late morning/noonish
Ahh, that'll be nice.
Not gonna lie that the fact the rest of this ship sounds like it's in disrepair is really creepy, though. Yikes.

Ships are decommissioned and retired for a good reason.

Re: Day 215 - Late morning/noonish
Is there any location you would like to see added to the ship?
Re: Day 215 - Late morning/noonish
A seafood buffet, a designer shopping strip, a zen type of place to watch the stars, something where I can practice archery and other things.
