Sam will sigh softly, though, and rest his forehead on Jewel's shoulder. ]

[Laughs a bit, letting go of Sam and placing his hands back in his lap]

Not until recently...the people that would care didn't know. And the people that knew didn't care. Now that I've finally started to tell people though...yes.

I have never once comforted you. You've comforted me too much. It's not right for you to have to comfort me over something you went through like you did.

[ Without a word Sam reaches out to pull Jewel tightly into a hug.

Don't mind the feeling of his fingers trembling a little bit against your back, Jewel, it's nothing, really. ]

[Hugs back just as tightly, resting his chin on Sam's shoulder as he rubs small circles against his back]

Sorry, Jewel... I'm trying so hard to protect you from having to deal with my own problems, I'm not respecting your ability to make your own choices on what you want and don't want to do. I'm just... afraid asking for too much.

And if our positions were reversed? Wouldn't you want me to lean on you too?
