Trying too hard to be likeable is arguably the same as making yourself unlikeable. whether it's intentional or not is up to the person acting that way. But you both are way too invested in keeping your respective images.
[ wohoo. Need for feeling of satisfaction from yellow frosting check. ]
Thank you.
I think it's okay if you both feel so strongly about it. But for someone like you, I think you deserve better than you're willing to give yourself. It's not a bad thing if people think kindly of you is it? Being on your own is so lonely. I don't wish that one anyone. Jewel has a lot of people who care about him. You don't seem to, though.
I'm not sure, I don't trust anyone enough to bank on them actually caring when it matters. It isn't that they are bad people or untrustworthy and I like a lot of them; but I just haven't known anyone long enough. Still, I like to think at least one person truly does, maybe even on this boat. That should be enough, right?
Beggars can't be choosers, right? The difference between you and me is I don't try to be unlikeable. But, that might just reinforce the idea that you are doing a lot better than I'm concerned for, which is a good thing. Still, if you can attract as twice as many as me while being unlikeable, maybe you should cut yourself a little slack and embrace it?
Well, when you put it that way, yeah it does feel impossible. It's probably easier for me to block out since I'm not very familiar with him. [ he gets the beautiful popular part, at least...?! ]
BOOKER.
[ gllllaannnccciiiinnnnnng over in the same direction as Booker before tilting his head. ]
Any reason you're always so down on yourself?

You think I dislike myself.

Re: BOOKER.
To draw another parallel with Joel, if someone were to say "I'm on like people like Jewel", their standards would be too high, right?
