well, first things first then! he's never really faced anyone this big before, but that's pretty amazing, yeah? He's going to literally move forward and take a swing straight at Brocade's face. The most obvious swing one could ever swing. It's not meant to be a real attack yet so much as a kick off to sizing his opponent up.
