Limelight AU
Keeps himself mostly an enigma while being rather open and approachable. Very amicable and willing to charm his way into information acquisition, regardless of the kind. If it piques his interest he's there. He has a bit of a reputation for "always getting what he wants," even though he's never shown himself to be anything but friendly, patient, and tolerant. He likes the idea of being some kind of heroic individual where he can offer help to anyone and everyone, and supposedly if he actually says he promises, you can trust him to see things through until the end.
He is a freelance investigative journalist, particularly for the newspaper The Barometer according to most who know him and (one of his) business cards.
He actually is the author of a popular crime drama series. His novels are under the pen-name M. S. Elyod. His work in investigative journalism (and other stuff) helps him writing compelling and successful mysteries. He's a talented storyteller through and through. His identity as Elyod is not publicly known anymore, although if someone did enough digging or was a fan from the very start, they would know Sam and Elyod are the same. Sam quickly became disenchanted with how people treated him when they thought they had something to gain even as superficially as popularity, so he faded out his identity very quickly. He doesn't have a great view of the entertainment industry, but is very good to his fans.
He has a classified position within the Cirrus Network concerning information retrieval. he's the guy that they send after anyone that's stolen or obtained information that they shouldn't have in their possession and deals with them. He may also have a hand in dealing with those rare incidents where a person who defects from the Family is magically never heard from again. His code name is: Themis. This position is top secret. Only Icarus the hacker has known contact with Themis. (Actually suffers from amnesia 4/5 years ago, but lies about it for various reasons. Only person who knows for sure he's an amnesiac is Lucy Beaufort, Jun, and the higherups in the Cirrus Network. He's seen as a very capable and obedient "dog" by the Atmosphere, but are we were of his Family and his position and also sees that as an asset worth holding onto. They have a tight leash on him as a result. ) ** Sam is actually the heir to an old world Mafia family that's very well respected in the underground. They have a long standing reputation of being judge, jury and executioner to those they seem to be transferring honor or involved in what the family considers unsatisfactory behavior. They follow a strict code, and are just really not the Family anyone is eager to get in the bad side of. The leader of this Family is always known by the title Il Re, making it's very difficult to know when family heads actually switch. Although Sam is considered dead, he does act as Il Re. However, he has his right hand running the Family until he is ready to focus fully on the family business. He is still the final decision maker. **

Even if my brackets indicate he finds your character appealing or he's interested in them, OOCly I have no intentions or assumptions for shipping. If it makes you uncomfortable, just let me know and I'll make sure he doesn't do it to your character.
Character is a compulsive liar when it comes to himself. Amnesia has really done a number on him, and not having his own story to tell drives him mad, so he pretends to have many. I super welcome anyone who can pick up on it and is interested in the CR of sorting him out, but it won't be easy.
His identity as a famous novelist is also a CR point development I'd like to do as a fun CR angle, but also is not something easily obtained. Basically I just want to do these angles of CR only with people who are interested in investing in CR with Childe. Thanks for understanding!

Book Series
Notes about the Book Series:
Newest Book is White Night. It is the first two parter novel he's written. The following book is Midnight Sun, but only the people who read White Night in full have access to the store link to buy the second half (it you can buy it secondhand I guess, or people share the link/his to get it etc )
The series featuresa pretty popular main character that's a private detective [ basically similar status to an Estoria ver. Sherlock Holmes but with only at best 1 year of that sort of popularity since the TV show aired]. The character is more well known than the actual books, and there was a successful TV Drama Series that featured the starred actor Bijou Melora, and a movie is in the works due to the success with Bijou returning as the star once again. The protagonist is Detective Delaney "Lane" Gavin.
Character hasn't been around long enough to be a 'household' name, but the TV series is still extremely popular, and has been renewed for another season coming after the movie has finished filming. The TV series definitely put the series into mainstream pop culture view, whereas prior it was just praised book series in the novel world.
PCs could equally know or not know of the series as well as have read them and liked/hated them. TV series after Episode 6 suddenly became very popular [ooc: aka a mini game of thrones where it feels like everyone is watching it. ] Irs very likely if PC owns a business or works where they talk to a lot of people, they've heard of at least the TV show (even if they have no idea what it's about and promptly forget.)

Protagonist (Detective Delaney "Lane" Gavin): charming but rather quiet when not on a case partly because solving mysteries is this guy's entire life. When on a case he is visible not alive and has a very cavalier/ gentleman thief persona to him that a lot of fans seem pulled towards.
