peaceful sensastion, but one that seems to limit your energy—as if forced to slow and calm down and behave with care. WHY IOS THIS SO SMALL NOW weight ok i fixed it lol. NO PICTURE PICTURE LOOKS BAD.
[ For a moment there, the multi-tonal voices appear to distract him. His presence seems to float over to where they were coming from as if it was a small attempt to reach them— nearly succeeding in making him mishear what Childe is talking about. He withdraws almost immediately, refusing to answer the question that now hangs in the space between.
Childe mentioned something he hasn't considered yet. ]

[ He'd gotten way over in his head with whether or not the Shard he has in his possession is real, or fake, or worse (ie. an experiment) that he failed to see what should have been so obvious from the very beginning. The frost seems a lot less bitter now, as if the sun has managed to thaw it away. ]
You've covered everything that I know thus far. I haven't found anything else...
Yeah. I think this has been deliberately planted— or deliberately not cleaned up. It's either inaccurate partly, wholly... or all the information here won't help us anywhere near as much get to the truth of the matter as it suggests.
[ he pauses, considering. The voices seem to have stopped— or at least they have fallen back into barely there unintelligible whispers. ]
... Honestly, it might be that it really is all written by Manon, but for some reason he's not remembering accurately. I don't know how we can verify if his memory is trustworthy, though... so if it's true, this just got a hell of a lot harder.
Most of all, convincing the Meridians will be pretty hard since this journal only paints a dull picture for Zenith.

Until we're able to interrogate Manon ourselves, I doubt we'll get to the truth of the matter anytime soon. It sounded as if his level of Discord has grown worse in the later entries so it's possible that not everything written down is completely reliable.
[ Sure, it paints a bleak outlook when it comes to the outcome of the debate in Zenith's favour. He doubts it's possible to win this one so he can only hope that those going to the debate know how to plant seeds of doubt or sow chaos — or both. ]
... And besides, there are other ways to win something like this.
[ Playing dirty isn't above the other Zenites, anyway. ]
I doubt Meridian will give us the chance, but who knows? I have no idea how the debate will end.
[ Even if the outcome is pretty obvious, you can never discount any wildcards and surprises. After all, Silco, Misa, and Amos all have their ways of accomplishing the impossible. ]
That said, if you still have friends over there, it might not hurt to ask them what they learn from Manon himself.
The old man will talk to me. [ because Vander is the only old guy... Kinda?? ] Not sure about anyone else. Besides, he's still not regenerated, right? I wonder who, if anyone, they are letting into visiting hours.
Feel like that side is full of people who will believe anything and everything they're told. Not Vander, but... a good chunk of others.
No, I don't believe so... As far as I'm aware, Manon remains as a Shard.
[ Unless there have been new developments which he hasn't heard about, which is possible. He shrugs his shoulders. ]
So far, it's been difficult to prove that Meridian's claims are impossible— which puts them on the same level as Zenith's. People will believe what is easier to digest, even more so if they're affected by what they hear emotionally.
[ yeah, he can tell. That's not a problem though, Childe understands. If he didn't know what he is does so far, he might have been done that as well. ]
That makes sense. Yima has told me before that any experiments on shards of any kind are absolutely taboo, though; at least to the Zenites. Although, it's possible she's lying... I don't think she is. She told me this after asking me to assist in getting to the bottom of this. To say something like that to me if this sort of thing was actually happening and so easily uncovered is weird. It would have made more sense for her to say nothing at all.
That said, I'm also pretty sure if Manon comes back here before reviving, he won't be reviving at all.
What makes you so sure she isn't lying to you? She's the one who has more to lose if Manon ends up in the Meridian's hands.
[ Manon, after all, was a Zenite who managed to reach Tier 3. He likely knows many of the faction's deepest secrets, and as such, he likely has proof that will easily discount Yima's statements. But — it's not like they have the full picture, and he understands that now. ]
You're right, however. I doubt he'll be given a chance to explain himself if he is returned to Zenith. If we want to know the truth...
I'm just currently even less sure of why it would be something to lie about. Wouldn't it have been better to tell me how amazing it would be if such things could occur and why it'd be good for Kenos so that, if her involvement was real, she wouldn't make herself look like a poor liar on top of being responsible by association for what happened to Manon?
Maybe we can ask some random Zenites what the beliefs are to gauge how much of a lie it is.
[ Kaeya can only silently digest Childe's words. He can't deny that what he's saying has some merit to it, but given what little they know... ]
It wouldn't hurt to ask them, I suppose. We already know that everyone believes Yima is the only one who can 'make' shards, but then there's the Meridian faction who sells a version of their own. If experimenting on Shards is truly taboo, then I wonder if someone is trying to use Manon to implicate Yima and Zenith?
Hm. I know Yima says she can't 'make' them at will. I'm not even sure what the advantage of making them at will artificially would do. As for the Church of Heliopolis, feels like a scam to make money for something else.
Yeah, that's probably pretty likely if it's true, whether she's actually involved or not. Another thing that we could benefit from the knowledge of understanding the "what for."
I mean, why would you even bother experi—nevermind. Il Dottore is a perfect example of doing pointless shit because he can. Nothing says this Aetos guy isnt doing the same. If another party is involved, though, then it most likely has a purpose.
[ but other than a torture mechanism for some real bike shit, Childe can't think of any reason for the benefit of experimenting on souls at the moment. ]
[ One thing is clear: they need more information than what they have right now. There's no point in coming to any conclusions with an incomplete story. Whether or not he'll like what they'll find at the end of this, however, well... that's another whole different matter. ]
I suppose all we can do for now is wait for how the diplomatic conversations will go.
