(no subject)
Character Age: 19-24 (I'm going with 21 for folkmore)
Character Species: Human (abyss-touched**)
Current Health: Healthy
Outfit: Full Outfit.
Character Canon: Genshin Impact.
Link to History: WIKI LINK.
Canon Point: Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: A Winter Night's Lazzo
Canon Iteration: Original canon
Canon Iteration Explanation: N/A
Skills:
- fishing, hunting, cooking
- high stamina/endurance from physical training.
- high pain tolerance from training
soldier training. (russian military/marine-level training. cqc. etc.)
weapons. He is skilled at all weapons, his lowest proficiency being with a bow, which is why he fights primarily with one.
- other stuff:
Canon Abilities:
hydrokinesis. His hydro vision (see inventory #1) allows him to form and manipulate the element of water. Most often forms weapons of all sorts, with sufficient favoring to dual blades and lances/spears.
electRokinesis. His electro delusion (see inventory #2) provides manipulation and creation of electricity as well as increased speed and strength, but can be detrimental to the user (e.g. extremely painful, draining).
foul-legacy. Foul-Legacy is a Transformation ability. Childe becomes larger (like several feet larger and bulked out), faster (again), stronger (again), fully armored, crazy (more) dangerous (than before.) This is something he acquired from his time spent training in the Abyss. It's incredibly detrimental to his health if used when in a weakened state. He is not able to continuously transform without killing himself, and must wait periods of time to "fully recover" before using it again without it being a danger to him. (more info.)
- **abyss-touched: this means Tartaglia has been in the Abyss, been granted powers or abilities only those of the Abyss are normally able to claim. It is implied this affects his human lifespan as well, but there's no confirmation and there is no hint as to what happens afterward.
RIP-TIDE. Childe is able to "mark" targets if he lands a direct blow with his hydro or electro weapons. opponents affected by Riptide will suffer from AoE Hydro DMG effects that are activated when he attacks them and inflicts DOT. If the opponents are not marked, the AoE spells are harmless splashes of water. Each riptide lasts about 60 seconds, and can be continually reapplied.
CELESTIAL VOYAGER. A giant water whale. VIDEO.
etc. He's exceptionally fast and agile and has high pain tolerance. (this is mentioned in skills, but his abilities add to it further, as well.)
Role: Myth
Role Qualities/Attributes: Childe will gain fangs and a tail, as well as the following from the role description: "...capable of seeing in the dark, detecting incoming threats, and have enhanced self-preservation skills such as quick reflexes. Myths have enhanced speed and resistance to poisons/gases."
Role Reasoning: Although Childe isn't a complete villain/has many good qualities, the myth role suits him better, especially with his unpredictability and masterful ability to mask his intentions and motivations. His goals are more important than anything to him, and he can often lose sight of everything else because of them. Despite not LIKING to be manipulative, he is very good at it and lying when it suits him. With him already tainted with the Abyss, it's an excellent opportunity for his subtle 'bad' traits to come up. I do want to explore the possibility of him eventually "rising" to a legend status far down the road if he can get the CR necessary to help change his selfishness and come to care more openly about the people around him above himself (other than his family, who aren't in Folkmore, anyway.)
OPTION 2 QUESTIONS (PICK 4-5) 100-300 WORD LIMIT EACH:
- Falling into the Abyss and his time in the Abyss. We don't have full details, but it's safe to say it was an unpleasant experience. He was chased through the woods as a child by a pack of hungry wolves after he left home to try and go out and be an adventurer like his Father and tripped and somehow literally fell into the Abyss. Was there for three months before managing to crawl his way out, but apparently to everyone else he had only been gone a few days. His personality was completely changed from his time in the Abyss, and he went from a loving and timid child to one that was aggressive and aggressive (as well as a closet psychopath.) Eventually, he needed to be handed over to the Fatui because his father could not handle Childe's penchant for chaos and fights, and his last hope was the military would at least discipline him to control himself better. (It did but he still has a nasty temper/rage issue).
- His Family: WIKI. He is a surprisingly and extremely dedicated man to his family. His relationship with his father is a little bit strained but still overall extremely loving both ways. An engaging and dedicated older brother despite being away on assignment. He writes letters to the 3rd oldest, Tonia, and always makes sure to write things for her to tell his two youngest siblings, Anton and Teucer.
- the Tsaritsa WIKI. His loyalty to her comes from that when he saw her he was so infatuated with her as she had the aura (and the eyes, in particular) of a true warrior that he came to instantly believe that she could bring about the change she's looking for and devoted his life to.
- the Traveler: WIKI. Childe views the traveler as a real friend as well as his equal and worthy rival. Although they don't always see eye to eye and they are enemies, it's clear that Childe has a strong affection for the Traveler. The Traveler is his best friend and someone he actually trusts, which is extremely rare. After the Traveler helps him take care of and rescue Teucer, he even goes as far as to invite the Traveler to meet his family in Snezhnaya.
- Zhongli WIKI. The first person that Childe met and befriended that seemed interested in him as a person and his company (you know, like a real friendship should be) rather than judging him as a member of the Fatui. This made the friendship extremely important to him. There is an argument that Childe was playing Zhongli the entire time to get close to him, but, because of how Childe reacted to the reveal of Zhongli manipulating him, it seems it became something sincere to him.
- It is all but explicitly stated that Childe has a crush on the Traveler, although what type of crush is left open to interpretation. Canon supports it through many of the things Childe says to them, especially during one event where he refers to them as his "north star" (in English, it's simply "stars" but Japanese and Chinese refer to a north star, aka the one that is mean to guide people who are lost.) I play it by default as a crush based on infatuation (someone strong, honest, true, a real kind of hero, and someone who never fails to surprise him.) I feel that this strongly shows just how much influence the concept of real heroes has had on Childe since he was a child despite him now being an antagonist to the hero of Genshin Impact. His father's stories of heroes and adventures was and still is a vital part of him despite him feeling he can no longer be a hero like the ones he was told about. The Traveler is proof to him that these heroes aren't simply myths.
- Childe's real name is Ajax, which his father named after a hero of legend. The name is from the greek myth of Ajax the Greater, a hero that was only second to Achilles in strength. There may be more similarities in the future as canon reveals itself, but they are both incredibly strong and capable of great things. They are dedicated and complete what they set out to do at all costs. However, when things do not go their way, they tend to lose their control (in particular, the myth sometimes states that Ajax was consumed by hatred and rage when he lost the bid for Achilles's armor to Odysseus despite all his strength and exemplary deeds (and thus he deserved it more.) He tried to kill Odysseus but the goddess Athena (who loved Odysseus but had helped Ajax in past times) made him go mad and slaughter the army's entire livestock instead of Odysseus. When he came to his senses, he was so humiliated and ashamed that he killed himself. Childe has been shown quite similar, as when he believed that he had been duped by the Traveler as them having already taken the Gnosis from Morax's exuvia form, changed his mind about not intending to kill the Traveler. After his body fails him from being able to continue the fight, he similarly is seen to come back to his senses, indicating he's easily enslaved by his rage to do things that are not in line with his original intentions.
