[ he just lets it drop, leaving the message on read. it's too much effort to argue or otherwise see if Jewel is not fit himself from whatever he experienced to be coming to get him. by the time he is halfway through typing it, the other might be here already, anyway.
he'll be curled up in a corner of the stage with his head buried in his arms and his phone on ground. it's nice and quiet so he has been trying to rest and keep his mind off the starvation by focusing on the pain, since one is much easier for him to deal with than the other. ]
[ winces a little. He looks... okay? But he's practically fully covered (and his clothes are fine, they aren't shredded or covered in blood or anything), even his hands are covered since he's always wearing gloves. Ruffling his hair there, though, there's probably something sticky and unpleasant. Touching his scalp will be really unpleasant and raw, but it doesn't seem like he can actually feel that for some reason, so it's only unpleasant to the person touching it, even if they're wearing gloves themselves.
all his other injuries are covered by his clothes, so other than his scalp the only real visual hints are some of his shirt having dirty damp patches where the burns and fabric have started clinging to them. There is the trace of litchenburg figures peeking out of his neck collar, but those unless you know what they are don't look like injuries, and more like strange fern patterns. Some people might even get tattoos like that.
either way Sam is going to try and get up since he doesn't want to waste Jewel's time. He can technically manage to stand given enough time to do so, although it's clear his nervous system is really fucked up. There's nothing fluid or graceful at all which highlights just how unclumsy his movements usually are for them being such a shit show to see now. ]
[ ...will stop and sit as told, because even if he wasn't injured, the mental effects have made him too weak to give much capability to push through physically or psychologically as he just doesn't have the energy. ]
[ just goes with him quietly, pretty stiff and clumsy but he's sincerely trying to make this as easy on Jewel as possible so they get to the pools as quickly as possible, too, since Sam feels like he's going to pass out the longer they stand. ]
[ Sam will use whatever amount of strength he has to lean in and is just about to kiss Jewel before he simply shifts to instead presses his forehead briefly against the other's affectionately. He'll briefly reach to hold his hand long enough to voluntarily connect their thoughts (although the first part transmitted isn't intentional).
—really like you and want to kiss you but can't—
Thank you for helping, go back and rest. Will make it up to you later.
He lets go, pushing away so he can just be can get into the water, clothes and all, and sink under it —he won't be coming up for a very long (like a good seven or eight minutes, and since the average person can only hold their breath about 90 seconds, it's going to feel like eternity if Jewel waits around.) ]
[ Sam will eventually resurface on the side of the pool and just curl up at the edge of it, not stupid enough to try and get out of the water yet but trying to bury his head in his arms again. The only sounds he makes are his ragged breathing as he coughs out water. ]

Hey.
Re: Day 249
it's not much but it say he's very very grateful that Jewel bothered to come get him even if he would have rather not had to bother him with it. ]
